We’re excited to welcome you to VIVA SUNDAY as we gather for a powerful morning of worship, community, and God’s Word. This week, Jonathan Monsen, Kennedy Holbrook, and Lead Pastor Frank Seixas will each be sharing as we continue our “Wisdom in the Noise” series. Join us in person or online at 9:30 AM or 11:30 AM as we make room to hear from God and grow together in faith.

This week’s message, “PURSUING WISDOM,” looks at what it means to truly trust God with every part of our lives. Proverbs 3 reminds us not to lean on our own understanding, while Jesus calls us to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Him daily. Pursuing wisdom means surrendering our own way, trusting His direction, and allowing Christ to shape the way we live.

Join us this Sunday across two services (9:30 am, & 11:30) at VIVA CHURCH as we worship, learn, and align our hearts with God’s mission.   • I am Frank the co-lead Pastor and with my wife Chris are the founders of VIVA Church in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. I first came to Canada in 1987, following God’s call to permanently move from Brazil to Canada. In August 1992, I started VIVA Church. In January 1994, I married Chris, and in 1996, I attended the Nazarene Bible College of Canada. Later I was awarded Doctor of Divinity (DDiv) from Canada Christian College in 2022.

    With a vision to reach people for Jesus, VIVA Church has grown to become a positive influence for the Kingdom, not only in Oshawa but also by planting churches internationally in countries like Cambodia and Uganda. Beyond our work at the local church, I (Frank) serve the body of Christ on the boards of other ministries and churches, and I am part of the Apostolic Ministry of MFI-Canada. I also travel to speak at conferences and many churches around the world.

    Chris and I have dedicated more than 30 years to serving at VIVA Church, witnessing the salvation and growth of many. We have been blessed with two beautiful daughters: Leticia, our youngest, and Gabriella, our oldest, who is married to Matheus.

  • Jon's journey with faith began early in life, attending VIVA Church with his family. Throughout high school and college, Jon lived a life disconnected from God and the church, driven by a desire to succeed in his career and life aspirations. An accident at work forced Jon to reevaluate his life, and realize that while he was set for life, he wasn't set for eternity. It was in a hotel room that Jon had a transformative encounter with God. He radically surrendered his life to Jesus and returned to VIVA Church, leaving his career behind to serve others. Jon began working with the homeless and addicted in Durham, and enrolled in VIVA College.

    Jon's passion is to see people encounter Jesus and be transformed by the truth of the Gospel, just as he was. After graduating from VIVA College, he was given the opportunity to lead the Youth Ministry at VIVA Church. As the Youth Director, Jon's vision is to disciple the next generation, igniting their passion for Jesus and rooting them deeply in the Word of God.

    Since December 2020, Jon has been a dedicated and active member of VIVA Church, committed to helping others find the same hope and transformation he experienced.
